School Statement on recent events
We strongly support the statements by Dean Dennis and President Thrasher concerning longstanding racial violence and inequity toward Black people in this country. We are committed to eliminating systemic racism. We plan to do this by improving diversity in our admissions, increasing cultural competence training for our students and ensuring we are sensitive to cultural and linguistic differences in our clinical practice as first steps. The acts of racial violence are deplorable and we will dedicate ourselves to creating a more equitable and just society.
