The School of Communication Sciences & Disorders has developed a vibrant research community of faculty, staff and students. Our sponsored-research activity has grown to more than $3 million per year in research and training contracts and grants. Many of our projects are interdisciplinary initiatives with local schools and hospitals. We collaborate with faculty in a number of departments and centers across campus. With our emphasis on clinical research, our scientists generate new knowledge of communication processes and develop innovative strategies for evaluating and managing communication disorders.
The vitality of our research programs is reflected in our growth in doctoral students and post-docs. We have more than 20 full-time students devoted to developing their research careers.
We are especially proud of our undergraduate students in the honors-in-the-major program. We have the largest percentage of students completing honor’s theses of any school or department at FSU.
Opportunities abound for students to get involved in research activities with our approachable scholars abound.
